(NOVEMBER 1) Preterm birth rates in the US have risen in 2015 for the first time in eight years, though Vermont is among 3 other states that have seen declining rates. Breena Holmes, M.D., director of Maternal and Child Health at the Vermont Department of Health and clinical associate professor of pediatrics at the Larner College of Medicine, is proud of Vermont’s low rates, but says that there is much more to be done to decrease early labor throughout the country.
