Vermont License Requirements
The Vermont Board of Medical Practice’s CMIE rules for re-licensure include a general requirement for 30 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM during each licensure cycle. This includes a minimum of one credit
for hospice, palliative care and pain management services, as well as a minimum of two credits for prescribing controlled substances. The current two-year cycle runs from December 1, 2018 through November 30, 2020.
NOTE: Due to consequences of COVID-19, the Board of Medical Practice has reduced the CME requirement to 15 hours for the current licensing renewal period that ends November 30, 2020. The special credit requirements have not changed,
however, but they do count toward the total 15-hour requirement. See some offerings listed below that offer these special credits.
