Delaney and Cross Receive 2017 UVM’s “Our Common Ground” Awards

Larner College of Medicine community members Tiffany Delaney, MA.Ed., director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and Michael Cross, custodial maintenance worker, each received a 2017 “Our Common Ground” award at a special breakfast held on May 8, 2017 and hosted by President Tom Sullivan in the University of Vermont’s Davis Center.

Larner College of Medicine community members Tiffany Delaney, MA.Ed., director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and Michael Cross, custodial maintenance worker, each received a 2017 “Our Common Ground” award at a special breakfast held on May 8, 2017 and hosted by President Tom Sullivan in the University of Vermont’s Davis Center.

The award recognizes six staff members who exemplify the qualities of UVM’s Our Common Ground, the statement of aspirations and shared values for the UVM Community and have made extraordinary contributions and had a significant impact on the University. Each recipient receives a trophy made of Vermont redstone and maple, a prize of $1,000 and is recognized on a permanent plaque.

Faculty, staff and students are eligible to nominate staff members for the President’s Our Common Ground Staff Award. Delaney was nominated by Diane Jaworski, Ph.D., professor of neurological sciences, and Cross was nominated by Class of 2017 medical students Bryce Bluedevich, Mohammad Mertaban, Christopher Meserve and Amy Schumer.
