Newest Medical Students Receive White Coats

Class of 2027 medical students received their first white coats on October 13 in a special ceremony at Ira Allen Chapel. The students hail from throughout the nation and around the world, and each has a unique story of what brought them to study medicine. Meet some of UVM's newest future doctors.

On October 13, 2023, medical students in the Class of 2027 gathered at UVM’s historic Ira Allen Chapel to receive their first white coats in a special ceremony witnessed by loved ones and mentors. This rite of passage officially welcomes students into the medical profession and emphasizes the responsibility they carry as they don the traditional physician’s white coat.The students hail from throughout the nation and around the world, and each has a unique story of what brought them to study medicine.
