(SEPTEMBER 1, 2023) A poster presentation by pulmonologist Daniel Weiss, M.D., Ph.D., professor of medicine, was awarded third place in the Young Investigators competition at the 2023 Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS) in Florida on August 17, the Defense Health Agency reported.
The Young Investigators competition recognizes the future of military health research by residents, fellows, doctoral candidates, post-docs, and individuals within five years of graduation from a terminal degree. Eligible research was funded by the Department of Defense with data directly relevant to one of the four MHSRS focus areas: warfighter medical readiness, expeditionary medicine, warfighter performance, or return to duty.
Weiss won for his project “Regenerative Tracheal Implants from 3D-Printed Advanced Biomaterials with Integrated Decellularized Extracellular.”
