Patient Care & Clinical Services

The pulmonary and critical care division has leading clinical programs and sub-specialties focusing on asthma, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary vascular disease, lung cancer, interventional pulmonary, pulmonary rehabilitation, and critical care medicine.

We are a university academic division within the Department of Medicine, supporting teaching faculty and providing research facilities for physicians with attending medical staff privileges at our clinical teaching partner, The University of Vermont Medical Center.

Major new initiatives include the expansion of the endobronchial ultra-sound service which has become increasingly important in the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer, and the use of state of the art protocols and simulation training to improve quality of care in the intensive care unit.
