Foundations Level

Policy Statement
All University administrative holidays will be observed. Students will be excused for major holidays of personal significance. During Foundations, they will need to work with the course director and course coordinator to make up any missed requirements.
- The following are University administrative holidays. These will be observed, with no classes or other activities scheduled:
- Juneteenth
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Holiday/Winter Break
- New Year’s Holiday
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- President’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Vacation periods will be observed as follows:
- Noon the Wednesday before Thanksgiving until the following Monday morning.
- A Winter Break that includes the New Year’s Holidays.
- One week in March and/or April.
- An extended period (7-8 weeks) following the first year of medical school.
- Leaves of absence are not covered by this policy statement. Students seeking such leave should review the Leave of Absence policy, and must
consult with the Associate/Assistant Dean for Students.
