Policy Statement
The Office of Medical Student Education and its affiliated faculty and staff provide available student support resources to all students. These resources are for students seeking to improve academic performance or students who may require or benefit from greater assistance than is routinely provided. Types of support provided include tutoring, learning assessments,
assistance with study techniques, exam-taking skills, stress management strategies, USMLE Steps 1 and 2 exam preparation, and referrals for diagnostic testing for learning disabilities.
Students should be aware that in addition to tutoring, a number of other academic resources are available to all
students at no charge; additional services include teaching assistant-managed weekly review sessions, office hours and course discussion board forums. The Office of Medical Student Education also has a partnership with the Stern Center for Language and Learning which provides additional services, including but not limited to diagnostic testing, instructional interventions and academic learning supports, and Academic Coaching.
