2022 Frymoyer Scholars Program Call for Proposals

Through the Frymoyer Scholars Program, the John W. and Nan P. Frymoyer Fund for Medical Education supports physicians and nurses who are actively engaged in teaching University of Vermont medical and nursing students and who embody the best qualities of the clinician teacher. The program is an investment in outstanding medical education and promotes teaching that emphasizes the art of interprofessional collaborative patient care. More details about the program can be found via the website links below.  We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity by submitting a proposal. Applications for 2022 are due by March 14, 2022. The program has funded 56 projects over the past 21 years. The results accomplished by Frymoyer Scholars have enhanced the learning experience of our students and improved patient care. We look forward to more award-winning projects this upcoming year.

LCOM Medical Education Research Registry

We invite UVM Larner College of Medicine investigators to list active medical education research projects and note key details about the project and project status. The goals of the registry are to increase of awareness of educational research activity, help investigators find collaborators, and prevent unnecessary duplication in scholarly activity. Melissa Davidson smiling in a white coat with a silver necklace onMelissa Davidson, M.D., professor and interim chair of anesthesiology and associate dean for graduate medical education, was recognized by the Association of American Medical Colleges’ MedEdPORTAL® as one of two 2021 Associate Editors of the Year. AAMC states “MedEdPORTAL relies on the voluntary contribution of reviewers and associate editors to assess the quality of submissions, ensuring they are accurate, clear, complete, and relevant to health professions education.”  Dr. Davidson is also a Distinguished Educator in the Teaching Academy.
