Bidur Dahal brings with him a wealth of experiences from both within and outside the academic fields. Himself, a former refugee from Bhutan, Bidur began his career as a volunteer teacher in a refugee camp in Nepal and later continued to work as a sub-editor, reporter, researcher, teacher, administrator, and community organizer outside of the refugee camp.  He arrived in the United States as a Bhutanese refugee from Nepal in 2011 and he is now a proud citizen of this great country.

Before he joined as an Education Coach Outreach Professional in the Vermont LEND Program, Bidur worked as a Navigator for Vermont Health Connect at the Community Health Center of Burlington, Medical Case Manager and a Staff Nepali & Hindi Interpreter at USCRI/VRRP and a Para-educator and Multilingual School Liaison for the Burlington School District.  He is the Founding Director, Board Member and Secretary of Vermont Hindu Temple, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2015 and also a former Board Member of Spectrum Youth and Family Services. Bidur has a Master’s of Science in Environmental Technology and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand. He is currently pursuing his MPH degree program from University of Vermont. He is also a former VT-LEND trainee. He also works as a Cultural Broker for the SBIRT project in the Nepali Community in Vermont. Bidur is fluent in English, Nepali and Hindi and can read, write and speak some Dzongkha. He loves being with his family, friends and community members.
