Course Description

The course is led by Jeffrey Peipert, MD, PhD, University of Vermont Professor and John Van Sicklen Maeck, Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Course faculty includes:

  • Kavita Nanda, MD, MPH, Director of Medical Research at FHl360, Duke University
  • Carole McBride, PhD, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Research, University of
    Vermont

OBJECTIVES:
• Improve understanding, advantages, and disadvantages of types of research methodologies
(qualitative and quantitative studies, systematic reviews, etc.)
• Describe how to choose a research question and its characteristics 
• Assess and critically review research papers
• Improve ability to use statistical software to analyze results
• Describe the academic promotion process
Improve ability to write/review manuscripts & grants

Registration

The registration fee for this conference is $4,000 and includes breakfast and lunch for each day of the conference.

REFUNDS: Refunds, minus an administrative fee of $150, will be made only if notice of cancellation is received in writing to uvmcmie@med.uvm.edu by January 9, 2025. Refunds are not possible after that date. Substitutions may be possible; please contact us via email to inquire.

 

Hotel Information

This conference will be hosted at the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. We have a contracted room block from Monday, February 10 to Friday, February 14. Please make your reservations directly by calling (760) 328-5955. Be sure to identify yourself as one of our attendees so you can receive our discounted rate for stays on Monday through Friday. Stays outside the room block can be booked at the Best Available Rate. The Lodge charges a 10% state and local tax, a 4% community assessment, and a $20 per day resort fee. To ensure room choice and availability, it is recommended that you make your room reservations as soon as possible.
