Every year, the end of August spurs anticipatory excitement in past and potential Community Medical School attendees.

Series Kick-Off: Tuesday, September 5
On Tuesday, September 5, Community Medical School entered its 19th year with the kick-off of its Fall 2017 Series. UVM Associate Professor of Radiology Sally Herschorn, M.D., discussed breast density, the technology available to women with dense breasts, and advocacy work to pass laws to notify women with dense breasts about their additional risk for breast cancer.
Community Medical School lectures are hosted on the first Tuesday of every month through November 7 and are free and open to the public. The events are held in Carpenter Auditorium in the Given Building at the UVM College of Medicine and include an open Q&A Session.

- November 7: "Politics, Money, & Science: Current Debates in Public Health & Health Policy" presented by Jan K. Carney, M.D., M.P.H., UVM Professor of Medicine and Associate Dean for Public Health.
