Educational Scholarship Award: One $50,000 award to support research to better understand learners, educational processes or the outcomes associated with educational interventions.

Letters of intent are due on Friday, September 1, 2023
Grant proposals are due on Wednesday,  November 1, 2023

2023 Transition to Residency (TTR) Educator Symposium

October 3, 2023 The Symposium is Free to all attendees and will be an interactive half-day with a plenary speaker, breakout sessions, poster/oral presentations, and networking opportunities. See below for information on submitting an abstract and information about nominating someone for Coordinator of the Year. 

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INFORMATION

The TTR Symposium is accepting abstract submissions that highlight innovative approaches or research related to helping medical students transition to residency.  Follow this link (Symposium Abstract Submission) to submit an abstract. Two of the abstracts will be selected for a live oral presentation during the symposium.  The other invited presenters will be asked to submit a PowerPoint of their poster paired with a 5-minute oral presentation to be included with our virtual posters. The deadline for submissions is 11 PM EST on SUNDAY AUGUST 13th, 2023.

    Heather Herrington, M.D., associate professor of surgery and pediatrics, has been selected as one of 45 women to participate as a member of the 2023-24 class of fellows in the Executive Leadership in Health Care program at the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM®) program at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Essentials of Teaching and Assessment Course

September 21 & 22, 2023 

This hybrid course will be offered for approximately two half-days

(in-person the afternoon of 9/21 and virtually the morning of 9/22).

This is a two-day, intensive hybrid course to introduce participants to the pedagogy, strategies, and resources for effective teaching and assessment. The course is designed especially for faculty, residents, fellows, graduate students, and postdocs who are new to teaching.

This event is open to all UVM Larner College of Medicine faculty at all teaching sites in the University of Vermont Health Network.
