Annual Update on Women's Health Conference

September 7-9, 2016
DoubleTree Hotel, South Burlington, VT

Overview

The breadth and complexity of issues surrounding women's healthcare makes it increasingly difficult for healthcare professionals to remain current. Guidelines and recommendations for routine care in pregnancy, adulthood, menopause and beyond are constantly being updated. The goal of this conference is to incorporate several important healthcare issues from various specialties and illustrate how they uniquely impact women.

This conference is designed to bring together experts from a variety of disciplines to discuss advances in women's healthcare in one concise meeting. Workshops have been added to facilitate greater participation and interaction among attendees. This conference is intended for physicians, advance practice providers, midwives, nurses, students and other allied healthcare professionals who provide care for women.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:

  • Review up-to-date management of abnormal vaginal bleeding, diabetes in pregnancy, hyperlipidemia, opiate addiction treatment in pregnancy, pelvic organ prolapse, fibromyalgia and more.
  • Describe health issues specific to women including ovarian cancer, non-contraceptive benefits of contraception, weight loss surgery, pelvic congestion syndrome, thyroid disease in pregnancy, common non-cancerous vulvar conditions, helping women succeed at breastfeeding and vitamin supplementation.
  • Participate in workshops on health benefits of prenatal and postnatal yoga, IUDs and endometrial biopsies, human trafficking, infertility, office management of first trimester miscarriage, and eating disorders.
