The Northeast Group on Educational Affairs announced last week that Katie Huggett, PhD, Teaching Academy Director, and Cate Nicholas, MS, PA, EdD, FSSH, Director of Education and Operations, Clinical Simulation Laboratory, Director of the Standardized Patient Program, and Distinguished Educators, will receive the 2024 NEGEA Distinguished Educator Awards. The awards will be presented at the 2024 Annual Conference at NYU Langone Health in May.

Spring Writing Retreat for Medical Educators

Gold Foundation accepting submissions for Dr. Hope Babette Tang Humanism in Healthcare Essay Contest

The annual Dr. Hope Babette Tang Humanism in Healthcare Essay Contest, created by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, asks medical and nursing students to engage in a reflective writing exercise that illustrates an experience where they or a health care team member worked to ensure that humanism was at the core of care. Submissions that touch upon students' personal experiences of humanistic care or stories of family and friends are also accepted. The deadline for submissions is March 13 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Submit Your Application for the IAMSE 2024 IM-REACH Program

The IM-REACH certificate program provides an opportunity to enhance skills, gain experience, and engage in reflection and growth as a mentor and ultimately influence your relationship with your mentee. The goal of this program is to develop well-rounded, diverse health professional education mentors through targeted professional development in key aspects of mentorship, which includes both knowledge and skills. The program will provide evidence of that mentorship leads to specialized achievement that enhances and supports career advancement for both mentors and mentees. Participants will complete a one-year certificate program with a scholarly project related to their professional needs as a mentor or as an educational leader supporting mentorship programs with mentors and mentees.   Click here to register.

Regional/National Call for Proposals

Call for sessions and posters for ABMS Conference 2024

The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) has opened a call for sessions and posters for the ABMS Conference 2024. This health care conference is focused on board certification with a focus on assessment, lifelong learning, improvement, and professionalism. Individuals and organizations are welcome to submit more than one abstract, though each abstract must be submitted separately. All accepted submissions will be presented in-person and presenters will be required to register for ABMS Conference 2024. The deadline for session abstracts and posters is April 1.
