Flow Cytometer Analyzers
BD LSRII
The BD LSRII is an air-cooled benchtop flow cytometer. It has 4 spatially-separated laser beams: 355 nm (UV) Lightwave Xcite laser, 405 nm (violet) Coherent Vioflame laser, 488 nm (blue) Coherent Sapphire laser, and 640 nm (red) CUBE™ diode laser. It is capable of simultaneously detect up to 13 fluorochromes plus forward and side scatter signals. This instrument uses BD FACSDiva v8 software for data acquisition and analysis.
MACSQuant VYB
The MACSQuant VYB is a compact benchtop flow cytometer. It has 3 spatially-separated laser beams: 405 nm (violet) diode laser, 488 nm (blue) diode pumped solid state (DPSS) laser, and 561 nm (yellow) diode laser, with detection of 10 optical parameter. This instrument performs absolute counting, multiparameter cell analysis and rare cell analysis (using an integrated Cell Enrichment Unit), and it is fully automated. It is the choice instrument for performing multiparameteric analysis of fluorescent protein expressing cells. This instrument uses MACSQuant v5 Software.
Cell Sorter
BD FACSAria
The cell sorter is equipped with a 405 nm (violet) Coherent Vioflame laser, a 488 nm (blue) Coherent Sapphire laser, a 561 nm (yellow-green), and a 633 nm (red) 1344-P (He/Ne JDS Uniphase) laser. The optics allow for the detection of up to 13 fluorescent signals plus forward and side scatter. Sorting on the Aria can be performed using high-pressure (70 µm), intermediate-pressure (85 µm), or low-pressure (100 µm) nozzle. The Aria is capable of concurrent 4-way sorting into 1 ml tubes, and concurrent 2-way sorting into 5 ml or 15 ml tubes, or microtiter plates (96 and 384 wells). In practice, the sort rates on the Aria are usually around 15,000 events/second. This instrument uses BD FACSDiva v8 software for data acquisition and analysis.
