Located in Given C346, the Pre-Award Office is here to help guide Investigators through the application process from budget and proposal development to just-in-time preparation. Our knowledge extends across a variety of government and foundation sponsor application platforms including NIH ASSIST, SF424, eBRAP, Grants.gov, Proposal Central, and various Foundation sponsor portals. Examples of Pre-Award support include:

  • Serve as primary liaison between the PI and UVM's Sponsored Project Administration office for proposal development, subaward review and award set up
  • Managing the proposal preparation process, including participation in strategic proposal planning, coordinating communications with sponsor, and providing project management assistance as needed
  • Preparing templates of non-technical proposal components to assist PIs in preparing compliant and competitive grant applications (i.e., Just In Time documentation)
  • Coordinate the internal transmittal process for all grants and contracts in securing official institutional approval
  • Disseminate information on funding sources, federal budgets, funding priorities, and agency guidelines
  • Provide training to unit personnel on administrative forms such as biosketch and other support
