October is Health Care Careers Awareness Month in Vermont!
Each year, Vermont AHEC and its partners develop a series of events to highlight health care career options in Vermont and the U.S. In past years, this special month has kicked off with an all-school assembly about health careers, and more recently it was an all-state day conference at a Vermont college. It includes classroom visits, job shadowing days, the Sophomore Summit, career fairs, workshops, and social media messages about health careers. AHEC offers a Toolkit of activities for teachers to use in support of student exploration of health care careers. This month-long observance was passed into Vermont law by the State Legislature in May 2010.
