University of Vermont Project ECHO
About Project ECHO
The Project ECHO model™. Project ECHO® (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is an evidence-based interactive distance-learning method developed by researchers at the University of New Mexico.
The ECHO model™ links teams of interdisciplinary specialists with primary care clinicians. During teleECHO™ sessions, experts mentor and share their expertise across a virtual network via case-based learning, enabling primary
care practice teams to treat patients with complex conditions in their own communities.
University of Vermont Project ECHO Dental Series: Treatment of Oral Health-Related Pain
This program will discuss best practices and evidence-based care for treating patients experiencing oral health-related pain. The program will identify strategies, best practices, screening tools, resources, clinical pearls, and emerging topics in the field. The primary target audiences are oral health professionals: dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists, certified dental assistants, traditional dental assistants, and expanded function dental auxiliaries throughout Vermont.
This program is offered at no-cost to participants through a Strategic Prevention Framework for Prescription Drugs grant (03420-08417, SPF-Rx, CFDA 93.243) from the Vermont Department of Health and is a collaboration between the University of Vermont Office of Primary Care and AHEC Program, UVMMC Dental and Oral Health, and the Vermont State Dental Society.
Participants can receive continuing education (CE) credits for each learning session attended.
