Bertges, M.D., professor of surgery, presented a late-breaking clinical trial on paclitaxel drug-coated balloons (DCBs) at the VIVA Foundation’s VIVA22 conference in Las Vegas, the news site CardiovascularBusiness.com reported in an article titled “Drug-Coated Balloons an Effective Tool in the Battle Against Femoropopliteal Disease.” Results of the trial, which focused on Medtronic’s IN.PACT Admiral DCBs, indicated that DCBs are an effective option for the treatment of femoropopliteal artery disease and femoropopliteal in-stent restenosis.
