(JANUARY 31, 2025) Raj Jain, M.D., a family medicine resident at the University of Vermont Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH), was quoted in a Yahoo story on an uptick in illness following the holiday season. On Tuesday evening alone, 13 patients were admitted to CVPH with COVID-19, seven with the flu, and one with RSV, according to statistics provided by the hospital.
“I was in the ER this month, and it’s been a big increase in people with flu, COVID and RSV,” said Jain. “The number of cases is really high.”
Frequently washing your hands and general good hygiene practices remain one of the best guards against sickness, but Jain also encouraged people to consider vaccinations.
