Writers Workshop

A group of regular Teaching Academy members meets the 3rd Thursday of the month to review and discuss your scholarly work on education topics. Bring work in any stage of development – manuscripts, conference proposals, research proposals, etc.

2024 Spring Writing Retreat for Medical Educators

Hosted by the Teaching Academy at the Larner College of Medicine and the Department of Medical Education at the Geisel School of Medicine

Date: Friday, March 22, 2024

Time: 9:00am-1:00pm

Location: Larner College of Medicine

Are you working on a manuscript? Planning a grant or conference proposal? Do you need time to focus on updates to your CV, personal statement, or teaching portfolio?
This half-day retreat will feature dedicated writing time, plus coaching on goal setting, and consultation time with experts on topics such as research design, writing, literature searching, and more.  

 

Tentative Schedule

8:45am - 9:00am: Registration and Continental Breakfast
9:00am - 9:15am: Welcome and writing warm-up
9:15am - 10:45am: Writing/Scheduled Consultation time
10:45am - 11:15am: Break and guided group walk
11:15am - 12:45pm: Writing/Scheduled Consultation time
12:45pm - 1:00pm: Wrap-up and Grab-and-Go Lunch

Manuscript Marathon -on hiatus

Writing a manuscript for publication is a marathon, not a sprint.

Join other Teaching Academy members the 1st Friday of the month for writing sessions to start, finish, or even edit for re-submission your medical education manuscript. Join in for coaching and uninterrupted writing time.
